Because
of the quarantine, many people are working from home. Ahhhh, the joy of working from home. Yes and no. With children at home from school, life can be hectic. There is much to do and not enough
time. However, the show must go on
at work. If you are a
professional, how does that
affect the way you dress in a world where meetings
happen on Zoom, Skype or some other form of digital media?
There are
articles flying around the Internet where people apologize for the first five
minutes of a Zoom meeting. Not
only does that take away from productivity, it may have an impact on your
image.
With that
said, we are in a new paradigm for our professional lives. In the past, we were told to dress for
the job you want, not the job you have.
Except, have all of those rules flown out of the window? Will people be held to the same
standards as they were in the office?
With all the political correctness, there may be a chance we are
forgiven for untidy appearance.
Except, long term this new paradigm may be the source of self-sabotage
for a career that was on the fast track.
For this
show, we will have another guest.
His name is Cedric Gray. He
is an image consultant extraordinaire.
He understands the impact clothes have on your image and how it causes
others to respond to you. While he
understands there may be leniency in this Covid-19 environment, he knows people
can become too laxed in their own home.
Work is still work. Color,
size and casual attire still matter.
Let’s
talk about strategies for the best way to dress in this new digital work
world.
The show
starts, Thursday, June 4, from 7:00pm-8:00pm (EST) at The Creative
Alchemist with Ted Santos and Lori Miller on
