Why Are Men Hesitant to Seek Mental Health Professionals, Even When They Are in a Crisis?

As a rule, men are taught to be strong mentally and physically.  When they face insurmountable circumstances, they are told to be tougher than the situation.  Yet, men commit 77% of suicides.  When suicide is the best solution, it means a man is facing challenges that may appear to be over his head.  Yet, he believes
he has to handle it alone.

They say it’s lonely at the top.  However, the greatest kings have all had advisors.  In the 21st Century, the top CEOs usually have an executive coach who helps them keep their head straight.  Except, the average man believes seeking support is a sign of weakness, even when he faces crises.

On this show, we are going to undress the myths of why men believe they have to suffer in silence.  Because this topic is very sensitive, we are going to have a very special guest.  His name is Dr. Robert Mead.  Dr. Mead is a licensed clinical and consulting psychologist.  Through his eclectic approach, he has been able help people embark on insightful journeys and discover practical solutions to happiness and realize aspirations that once appeared impossible.  He has also helped his single clients make healthy relationship choices.  And he has helped couples achieve successful and fulfilling partnerships.

We encourage you to join this show and be prepared to ask questions about your greatest personal or relationship challenges.

Tonight, Sunday, July 21, from 7:00pm-8:30pm (EST) at Straight Talk with Ted Santos and Robert Lee.
